Luna Deckers
Luna's poëtische en beschouwende werken ontstaan intuïtief en speels. Ze is geïnspireerd door de grootsheid van de natuur, die voor haar tegelijk vertrouwd en ongemakkelijk voelt. Die spanning zoekt Luna ook in haar werk. Laag voor laag bouwt en experimenteert ze met materialen, compositie en texturen, zonder te weten waar het eindigt.
Het is een samenspel van haarzelf, het materiaal en de natuurlijke omgeving. Haar werk is altijd in beweging en wordt voor haar als een plek om te willen zijn en waar de tijd even stilstaat. Zodra dat gevoel van vertraging er is, weet ze dat het werk af is.
Luna Deckers (Amsterdam, 1993) is in 2022 afgestudeerd aan de Gerrit Rietveld Academie en woont en werkt momenteel als beeldend kunstenaar in Utrecht.@luna.deckers

Luna's poetic and contemplative works emerge through an intuitive and playful process. She is inspired by the grandeur of nature, which feels both familiar and unsettling to her at the same time. It is this tension that Luna also seeks in her work. Layer by layer, she builds and experiments with materials, composition, and textures, without knowing where the process will lead.
It is a collaboration between herself, the material, and the natural environment. Her work is constantly evolving and becomes a place she wants to be, where time seems to stand still. The moment that sense of slowing down appears, she knows the work is complete.
Luna Deckers (Amsterdam, 1993) graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2022 and currently lives and works as a visual artist in Utrecht.
